Self Portrait by Jules-Adolphe Breton 그는 1870년대 내내, 또한 1880년대와 1890 대에 걸쳐 전시를 계속했으며 그의 명성이 커졌다.  석양을 배경으로 한 풍경속의 농촌 여성 인물에 대한 시적 표현은 특히 미국에서 인기가 있었다. 그의 작품이 너무 인기가 많았기 때문에 브리튼은 종종 그의 이미지 중 일부의 복사본을 제작했다.  그는 살롱에서 수많은 작품을 전시했다. 영국과 미국뿐만 아니라 프랑스에서 가장 잘 알려진 화가 중 한 명이었다.  1880년 빈센트 반 고흐 (Vincent van Gogh) 는 Courrières 에서 85 마일을 걸어 브레톤 (Breton)을 방문했다. 그는 또한 여러 권의 책을 저술했으며, 작가( Jeanne )와 예술가로서의 그의 삶과 그가 개인적으로 알고있는 다른 예술가들의 삶을 관련시키는 산문의 여러 판을 출판한 저명한 작가였다.  Les Champs et la mer (1876), Nos peintres du siècle (1900), Delphine Bernard (1902), La Peinture (1904) 등이있다.   1906년 7월 5일 파리에서 사망했다. 2018. 10. 22.
